The Social Contract

I do not really care what this Social Contract that everybody is talking about is really suppose to do. Whether it is about Ketuanan Melayu, or about conferring Bumiputra status on Malays or any  Mamak, Indonesians, Mahathir or anybody that UMNO deems fit to have Bumiputra Status. I do not care if this Social Contract was sign by all the representatives of the Malays and non- Malays at that point of time – which in essence means that the signature of these representatives does bind all of us and our descendents and their descendent to this Social Contract! And I really do not care a damm if this Social Contract is  crystal clear about it being an irrevocable documents that our founding father have intended for all of us to be bound too in the spirit of Merdeka…and it must be so because the Malays have sacrificed so much of their right to allow the other races to become the Rakyat of Malaysia.

Who can tell me exactly what the Malays have sacrificed?...and before anybody say anything go see what the Orang Asli have sacrificed of their land, their life and their culture in the name of progress and national interest! Go see what the Penans have sacrifice of the same things as these orang asli have sacrificed just so the corrupt government in Sarawak can make hideous amount of timber money for Barisan Nasional politicians...starting from their own Chief Minister down!

When something is wrong – nothing will make it right. Common sense will tell you that in the times that we now live in, racial politics and the use of the racial divide for political gain is simply not on! If you cannot understand this then simply put…you are a bloody idiot!

If there really is such a Social Contract then who will have the common sense to just tear this Social Contract up and sit down to write another Social Contract that is more reflective of the times that we live in? A Social Contract that says that if you choose to call Malaysia your home – then you are entitled to be treated equally as everyone else. Nothing more, nothing less.

And while you are writing that new Social Contract please look at these issues to:
  • Get rid of the Sultans.
  • Look into caring for the underprivileged and the aged – not superficially but in a real and effective way to ensue that their life is worth living.
  • Legislate to ensure that racial discrimination is a criminal offence.
  • No ISA.

And the list goes on…..

So all you people out there referring to the Social Contract cukup lah! What is wrong is wrong. No amount of legal jargon or agreements can make it right…………stop hiding behind this ‘Social Contract’ written many many years ago….if one ever exists. If you do want a Social Contract then let it be of this times that we are now living in. Common sense will tell you that it is the right thing and sensible thing to do if our country is to have any hope of a decent future.

  1. Abang steady,

    good point !

    Especially the one
on getting rid of sultans. They
hv been nothing but huge financial
burden to the rakyat. Just look
at the way they spend , it's as
if they were as rich as the Brunei
sultanate. What with the sick internal squabbles in the Kelantan
    and NS palaces, and previous
misbehaviour from some southern state near Singapore
(I dun hv to mention his name),
it's time we got rid of the monarchy.

Monarchs are just supposed to be
    public figures, but im pretty
disappointed with the "interference" in the political conflict over Perak,
which saw Mamak Zambry from BN
snatching away the seat from Nizar
    of PAS.

But as usual, politics is at play
in M'sia. These people will hide
behind some bullshit, stating "Jangan memoersoalkan
    hak Raja-Raja Melayu"

  2. HH. I left this at MT thought you will be amused.

Interesting take on Hang Tuah and it was not what I was taught during my time. However where do we draw the timeline. See "The Human Family Tree" This is where they have trace all humanity back to Africa 400,000 years ago.

As far as the Malay peninsular is concern the first wave was along the coast of Arabia all the way to Australia including the Phillipines. These people did not change much in appearance and kept their African looks because the environment did not require them to change. It was still hot as in Africa. ( They were able to walk all the way to Australia at that time. )

When the ice cap melted and the sea level rose the second wave moved out of Africa northwards all the way to China Europe and the Americas. This second wave moved down from china and intermingle with the first wave in the Malay peninsular. The orang asli are the undisputed first people and they still have much of their African features.

So if we are talking about Malay where do we start? In Malaysia we are evolving into a saparate race entirely. The chinese in Malaysia are very different from Taiwanese Hong Kong or Mainland Chinese. What we are probably arguing about what we want included into the definition of being Malaysian or the sub set of beng Bumiputra and Malay. The latter only important because of positive discrimination policies.

In the long run what shapes the new Malaysian identity is evolving. If anything identifies a Malaysian it is the Food. Fortunately up to now the image have not been hijack by others perhaps because it is not one ubiquitous dish but the whole melee even though not everyone partakes in them all because of culture or choice.

It is like the Malaysian identity not one race but must be taken as a whole in all it's differences and perhaps "never the twain will meet"

  4. Social Welfare Lottery !

That used to be the only bet one can bet on, and make big money those days.

Now, if this country wants to proceed for another 53 years ahead!
I suggest we start all over again and write a NEW CONTRACT!

    ALL EQUAL!

That is the only solution, otherwise one side feels cheated and it never ends!

As for the Orang Asal, Penans & other natives, the damage done is horrible!

Shall we wait till it is like what happened in USA, AUSTRALIA...?

Or we stop the rot, cut down the old bad trees and grow new trees!

OLD TREES - REALLY bad leaders!
New Trees - find the really 'god fearing' ones !

The current gangsters do not fear anything, they think that they will live forever! They think death is a joke! They think HELL is also another BIG JOKE! We shall see who is the best joker in the END!

As for the other Jokers around who eat, live and die without ever lifting a finger to work, all they know is to enjoy life to the fullest, they will also have a very special place indeed eventually!

Lets not bother much about them.
