Cakap cakap...being in a reflective mood.

What is important in your life? Money, Family, Politics….have you stopped to think if there is anything at all that is important enough in your life ? Important enough for you to devote time, effort and all your energies towards achieving it? Maybe Money? What have you done to get lots of money? Steal, cheat or maybe the old fashion way – work hard? If it is Family did you defy your parents to marry somebody they did not approved? Did you convert to another religion to marry because that was the only way the marriage could have happened? Did you convert willingly? Did you believed? If your passion is politics – did you sacrifice family for politics?

There are so many variables. So many degrees of sacrifices, commitments and passion that it would be impossible to quantify our efforts and put it against what others would have done to pursue their life’s goal. I have seen Muslims who have without fail prayed five times a day, gone to Mecca many times and fast from dawn to dusk during Ramadan – and yet faulted in their duties to their Family – in my eyes they did  - because taking a second wife, in my book, is not fair to your wife and children. This is my personal take on the situation. You are entitled to yours. Nothing you say will make it right for me.

I have known men whose constant thoughts are for their family – wife and children. They work diligently, are good of heart and fair to all those around him – and yet he is taken away from this life before he is forty. Why? Again arguments that God has his reasons and that he is needed by GOD more then his Family does not hold water with me.

And then I see people who do not have any saving graces. Are rude, greedy and unfailingly remiss in taking care of their family. Their life is a mirror of what GOD would not want us to be. And yet he drives a CLK Mercedes, has a trophy second, third wife, an Istana for a home and has more than what he would require to lead a life of debauchery and sin. What do they say of him? That when he dies he will surely go to Hell. I ask you this – so he goes to hell – I think he will not care because like us, he will not know when he is dead. And when he dies he has done his living.

Life is like that. It is sometimes not fair to those that do good. So why not do bad? Be corrupt. Again that is a personal decision for you to make. Live life as you want to – but be prepared to lie in the bed that you make.

[3:14] Adorned for the people are the worldly pleasures, such as the women, having children, piles upon piles of gold and silver, trained horses, livestock, and crops. These are the materials of this world. A far better abode is reserved at GOD.
[3:15] Say, "Let me inform you of a much better deal: for those who lead a righteous life, reserved at their Lord, are gardens with flowing streams, and pure spouses, and joy in GOD's blessings." GOD is Seer of His worshipers.
[3:16] They say, "Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us our sins, and spare us the agony of the hellfire."
[3:17] They are steadfast, truthful, submitting, charitable, and meditators at dawn.
